Mold grows in places where there has been water intrusion. Building materials can promote mold growth once they have become wet.

 

Mold is all around us and can be found indoors. During sheetrock installation, mold spores are commonly trapped in cavities in walls and ceilings. Mold can also enter through open doors and windows. Mold Spores can also attach to people and animals, bringing them indoors.

 

Remember: Mold problems are usually obvious. Another way to distinguish mold types is to look for "red flags" like a musty odor or visible stains.
